New Year's Revolutions Revisited

Brailey wrote out her list of "Revolutions," as both of my kids have called our New Year's Resolutions since they were little (see one of my very first blog posts, New Year's Revolutions) this year, on the last day of December. I saw it on the counter, and she said, "I'm not done with that yet!" She later added a couple more things to her list. I love it! That means the goals we set as a family every year and on a regular basis are sinking in - she "gets it." Brady, Britt and I have required more time to think on our revolutions, this year...

I was thinking about this, and feeling a bit of panic, and then trying to think of what I want to work on, and then I realized it was quite simple - what I need to do is exactly what I've been doing! Which is working hard to improve myself mentally, physically and emotionally, continuing to be grateful, always trying to find the positive, and being the best "me," I can be, which is quite an undertaking, I assure you! In case you haven't figured it out, yet, I've got a little cray-cray in me, and by cray-cray, I mean completely out of my mind CRAZY! I am a work in progress, continually. But that's okay - at least I know I'm not perfect, right? At least I realize I have work to do.

One of my goals is clear in my mind - to be more consistent in my writing/blogging, because that is, in a lot of ways, my therapy. And it also makes me feel better about remembering my precious babies and their lives. If I could, I would document every second!

Along with my blog, I enjoy Instagram. I was called to Instagram, last year for one of my jobs, and I fell in love with it! I LOVE INSTAGRAM! I love everything about Instagram! Brailey is on it, as well, and I have truly enjoyed her posts. I have also been completely impressed with how she handles her Instagram account. You won't find millions of "selfies" on Brailey's wall - she is just not that kind of girl. Like I said, she "gets it." And by "it," I mean a lot of life's lessons that take some of us a lifetime to learn. As much as I love Instagram, though, I do believe it can be too much of a good thing. I am prone to over-sharing, it seems, and I will have to be careful with myself in the social media world. It is a constant balancing act, isn't it?

So yah, I feel like I'm on the right track, baby, I was born this way! (Sorry - Lady Gaga just jumped into my head right there and I couldn't stop her!) And herein lies the problem, ironically - I was BORN this way, and now I have to deal with it. Of course, I'm not going to share my whole list of ineptitudes and weaknesses and faults and all the things I have to work on - no way! You probably already know most of them anyway. But I am going to keep on keepin' on, and I WILL tell you this - I kicked my peanut habit, last year, after being absolutely addicted to them for three years. I also kicked my two-chocolate-chip-waffles-for-breakfast habit, which was nearly a three year long addiction, as well. It felt good, it did, to get rid of those needs! However, my chocolate addiction has, shall we say, overcompensated for the peanut/waffle demise, and I've always loved chocolate, so while I will never try to live without it completely, because why set myself up for failure? I do hope to reduce my chocolate consumption a bit.

I am so grateful and excited for another year to work on goals and revolutions! What a blessing to have another day to work on everything. It is such a good life, even though we make it messy, and nobody said it was fair or easy, but me and my B's? We're working hard to live our best one!
